Dublin Bus has cancelled Nitelink services for tonight
With a strike just hours away, Dublin Bus has cancelled all late-night services from Dublin City.
THERE WILL BE no Nitelink services in Dublin tonight as the city prepares for an all-out strike by Dublin Bus staff.
The late-night bus service carries up to 3,000 people out of the city every week on 16 different routes. However, in anticipation of strike action by drivers, supervisory, clerical and maintenance staff, the company has opted to cancel the service.
In a short statement, the company apologised to customers.
“Nitelink services will not operate tonight, Saturday 3 August.
“Dublin Bus apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused. Customers are advised to check our website or get updates on Facebook or follow us on Twitter prior to travelling.”
The news could cause major problems for revellers at Oxegen, which kicked off yesterday, with many bus services from the Punchestown venue returning to what will be a Dublin City Centre with no buses. The company does not run the service on Bank Holiday Sundays.
Airlink and tour services will also be cancelled as of midnight, the company said.
