Woman (70) dies after morning fire in inner-city Dublin

The woman was alone in the house.

A 70-YEAR-OLD woman has died after a fire at a house in inner-city Dublin.

Gardaí say they were alerted to the fire at on St. Malpas Place on Clanbrassil Street shortly after 7am this morning.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene and a 70-year-old was taken from the house and brought to St. James’s Hospital. She was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí say there was nobody else in the house at the time and that it is has now been preserved pending a technical examination.
