The UK plans to phase out petrol and diesel cars by 2040, while Volvo will stop producing petrol cars in 2019.

THE UK HAS announced plans to phase out the selling of new petrol and diesel cars by 2040, just a few weeks after France unveiled similar proposals.

The plans aim to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions, by switching to more environmentally-friendly modes of transport.

Earlier this month, car manufacturer Volvo said it plans to phase out production of petrol-only cars in 2019, with all new models to be either electric or hybrid starting from that date.

So, today we’re asking you: Will your next car be an electric car?
