Over 1,000 power outages following strong winds overnight and fire at Dublin substation

The disruptions have been reported in parts of Carlow, Kilkenny, Galway, Sligo and Cork.

ESB NETWORKS ARE working to restore power to over 1,000 customers after strong winds caused outages overnight.

The disruptions have been reported in parts of Carlow, Kilkenny, Galway, Sligo and Cork.

Meanwhile, some homes in Dublin 1 and Dublin 3 lost supply due to a fire at a substation in Summerhill.

Dublin Fire Brigade received a call about the fire at 9.15 last night and two fire pumps attended the scene with an overseeing officer.

ESB Networks say the supply has been restored to customers affected.

Anyone experiencing power outages is advised to check powercheck.ie.
