Fatal Louth crash under investigation

Gardaí name mother and son who were killed in yesterday’s single-vehicle crash.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING yesterday afternoon’s fatal car crash in Co Louth.

Leontine Covaci, 35, and her son Ezacheal Covaci, 9, of Rivervale Grove, Dunleer, Co Louth, were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed.

The woman’s husband was driving the car and was also injured. He and two other children travelling were taken to hospital.

He was later released, but the two children have been transferred to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital and Temple Street Children’s Hospital. One is believed to be the couple’s young daughter, while the other is a girl not related to them.

The elder of the two girls is understood to be in critical condition.
