Gardaí appeal for witnesses after cyclist in his 60s killed in Kildare road collision

The collision involved a car and a bicycle, a Garda spokesperson said.

GARDAÍ AND EMERGENCY services are attending the scene of a fatal road traffic collision at Knocknagee, Co Kildare, which happened this morning at about 11:30 am. 

The collision involved a car and a bicycle, a Garda spokesperson said. 

A male cyclist aged in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

His body has been removed to Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place. No other injuries have been reported.

The road is currently closed for forensic examination and local traffic diversions are in place.

Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and who were travelling in the area between 10:30 am and 11:30 am, are asked to make the footage available to Gardaí.
