Gardaí appeal for witnesses following Clondalkin assault in the early hours

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an assault at Wheatfield Avenue in the early hours of this morning. One man has been arrested.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN are appealing for information after an assault in Clondalkin left a man with serious head injuries.

The assault took place at around 1am this morning when a 25-year-old man sustained the injuries during an altercation at Wheatfield Avenue.

The man was taken to Tallaght Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

A man in his thirties has been arrested and his being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was in the area between 12.45am and 1.15am this morning to contact them.

The scene has been preserved for a technical and forensic examination.
