GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a fire broke out at an ATM in Celbridge last night.

Garda units and the fire brigade attended the scene after the alarm sounded at the Ulster Bank ATM on Main Street in Celbridge at 4:30am this morning.

The fire was confined to the ATM and was extinguished. Gardaí were still investigating the scene this morning.

Scorch marks can be seen surrounding the ATM while the Ulster Bank sign that usually sits above appears to be missing following the blaze.

This is the second time a fire has broken out at the same ATM, with a similar incident occurring at around the same time in December 2014.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
