Green Party holding annual convention to choose new deputy leader

The party’s new leader Eamon Ryan will also make his inaugural address.

THE GREEN PARTY is holding its annual convention in Dublin today aiming to rebuild after its disastrous election campaign.

Having lost all six Dáil Eireann seats at the last general election the Greens are no longer eligible for State funding and must rebuild ahead of future local and general elections.

Having elected former Minister for Communications Eamon Ryan as the party leader last month the former Dublin TD will today deliver his inaugural address as leader.

The party will also elect a new deputy leader at the convention.
