#PAKISTAN Pictures showing a new island created by yesterday’s massive earthquake in rural Pakistan were released.

#KENYA Troops and rescue workings were scouring the wreckage of the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, as Kenya entered three days of official mourning. 63 people were listed as missing after the four-day siege which saw 67 people dead.

#COSTA CONCORDIA The search for bodies still on board the Costa Concordia got underway today. The corpses of Italian passenger Maria Grazia Tricarichi and crew member Russel Rebello never were recovered after the ship went down in January, 2011.

#RUSSIA Activists from the environmental group Greenpeace were moved to pre-trial detention centres, facing up to 15 years in a Russian prison. The 30 activists are accused of piracy.
