Teenager arrested after 21-year-old man shot in the face in Limerick

Gardaí have arrested a teenager and issued an appeal for information.

A 21-YEAR-OLD man is recovering at a Limerick hospital after being shot in the face shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The shooting occurred at Hyde Road in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city in the early hours of this morning. The victim was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where his injuries are described as not life-threatening.

In a follow-up operation, gardaí arrested a 19-year-old man. He is being questioned at Roxboro station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

An appeal for witnesses and information has also been issued. Anyone with information is asked to contact the local station on 061 214 340 or the Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
