Investigation underway into two incidents of burglary and criminal damage in Co Limerick

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to either incident to come forward.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING and appealing for witnesses into two incidents of aggravated burglary and criminal damage across a number of hours late last night and early this morning.

The two incidents occurred in Co Limerick.

At 11:55pm, a number of individuals forced entry into a house on Shanabooley Road in Ballynanty, where they caused damage to the property. They fled the scene in two cars.

At approximately 1:00am at a site on the Dublin Road, damage was caused to a caravan.

Both of these locations are under examination by crime scene investigators, gardaí said. No injuries were reported and enquiries into the incidents are ongoing.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ballynanty and Groody areas of Limerick between 11:30pm on the 22nd into 1:30am on the 23rd are asked to make this footage available,” a garda statement said.

“Gardaí are particularly looking for information on the movements of two cars that were travelling in these areas at the time these incidents occurred.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station 061-212400 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
