Ebay The alleged prototype iPhone 6, running in diagnostic mode instead of iOS 8.
# splash the cash
An alleged iPhone 6 prototype is currently selling for €48,800 on eBay
The prototype, which runs Apple’s diagnostic mode, was accidentally sent to a customer by US mobile phone network Verizon, and has been put up for sale on eBay.

AN ALLEDGED PROTOTYPE iPhone 6 is currently on sale on eBay for $61,400 (€48,900) after it was mistakenly sent out to a US customer.

The prototype is running Apple’s diagnostic mode, which is used to test out the phone’s features and functions, instead of iOS.

The seller, only known as kimberlyk1018 who doesn’t have any other previous selling history, claims that the phone was accidentally sent from Verizon, and is missing the usual markings like the model number.

It’s also mentioned that the phone may not be operable as there’s no “guarantee that it will make calls or that the camera will work.”

As you can see from the photos, iOS8 has not been placed on this device, rather it is in the true developer mode. There are no FCC markings on the rear of the device or a model number. This is the real deal!!! The lightening [sic] port is red which is a sure sign of a prototype. This device is being sold as is. I cannot guarantee that it will make calls or that the camera will work. However I can guarantee you that the device is a 64gb iPhone 6 which was sent to me from Verizon.

On top of that, the lucky winner will get all the accessories from the box, and the seller originally promised that if the bid went over $4,000 (€3,187), free shipping would be included.

And for those doubting that this is the real deal.

I am also giving a 110% guarantee on this being an authentic Apple prototype device.

The auction will continue for another three days before closing.
