Home for Christmas? Stay and check out job prospects says recruiter
Recruitment agency Servisource says that there are particular skill shortages in the areas of nursing and construction.
A DUBLIN-BASED recruitment firm is targeting Irish workers living abroad who are home for Christmas in an attempt to “start bringing people back to the Irish jobs market”.
Recruiters Servisource say that they have noticed a considerable shortage of skilled candidates, particularly in the areas of construction and nursing and want to use the Christmas season to tempt workers to stay in Ireland during their trip home.
“Roughly 55 per cent of the positions we are recruiting for at present have gone live in the last month alone. These are long-term, permanent jobs in a whole range of sectors from nursing and IT, to accounting and construction,” said Servisource’s CEO Declan Murphy.
“Many of these people will be coming home to spend Christmas with family. We are inviting them to contact us and let us see if we can find a position that is suitable for them,” he added.
The company say that they have seen a “steady increase” in staff requirements recently and are currently recruiting for 50 posts in the nursing sector alone.
Digital media jobs
There was also some positive job news with the announcement that media firm Sheology, which runs the MummyPages.ie website, will create 30 new jobs over the next three years.
The expansion plans come after the firm acquired competitor MagicMum.com and plan to increase their presence in the UK market. The company say that their target is to now reach one million women across Ireland and Britain.
