Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr of Glasgow Police had previously stressed that the woman is “in no way connected with the death of Karen” but that she “may have information that could assist the investigation”.

Karen Buckley, originally from Cork, was last seen by friends in the Sanctuary nightclub late on the night of 11 April.

She was found murdered on a farm on the outskirts of Glasgow a week later.

Alexander Pacteau (21) has since been charged with Karen’s murder.
