AN AUSTRALIAN HOSPITAL had an unexpected patient attempting to check-in in the middle of the night when a koala walked into reception.
Hamilton Base Hospital in the state of Victoria says that ‘Blinky Bill’ walked into the emergency department at about 3.30am.
The marsupial can be seen on CCTV looking ”very casual, very relaxed” according Western District Health’s chief executive Rohan Fitzgerald.
In a video on Western District Health’s Facebook page, the koala walks in through the department’s automatic doors, saunters over towards the reception area before leaving through the same doors.
“He seemed to know exactly what he was doing,” Fitzgerald told ABC News said.
“After about three minutes, at about 3:30am, he investigated sufficiently and made sure everything was in order and then decided to exit the building.”
Hospital staff can be seen in the video and Fitzgerald say they saw Blinky but decided to just leave him alone.
