FOUR LONDON POLICE officers were injured as missiles and a ‘petrol bomb’ were thrown as they attempted to break up an illegal rave.

The event was advertised as ‘Scumoween’ on Facebook with 4,000 people saying they were attending the event.

As police attempted to break up the rave, a near riot broke out with various missiles being thrown at police who can be seen using their batons on those confronting them.

Four officers were treated for injuries at the scene but none were seriously hurt.

Metropolitan Police say one reported ‘petrol bomb’ was thrown. Footage of the incident shows a number of fires burning afterwards and throughout.

The standoff began after 3am when police attended the address in Lambeth where the rave was taking place.

When officers arrived, they were confronted by a large group of people outside the venue and the confrontation began.

Police entered the venue at 6am and dispersed those attending before waiting for the area to clear.
