With their exit there are no Irish left in the villa Love Island

Irish GAA star Fitzy on his way back to Galway after bumpy Love Island stint

Sean ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and partner Lola Deal plan to move to Dublin together after being dumped from tthe villa.

IRISH GAA STAR Sean ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerld has left the Love Island villa, with more of a fizzle than a bang.

The Galway man is on his way home after falling into the bottom in the last public vote and being subsequently dumped along with his partner Lola Deal.

For those of you who aren’t watching the show this year but are curious about how the Irish islanders are doing, here’s a quick round-up.

The pair were voted as one of the three least favourite couples by the British public alongside Samraj Toor and Mica Harris, and Martha Rothwell and Jordon Wilson.

The public’s favourite couple, Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak, were then tasked with deciding which of the three couples should be eliminated.

Though before Lorenzo and Julia could make a decision, Lola volunteered herself and Sean to leave saying they “found what they came for”.

After their exit from the villa on Sunday the pair appeared on Aftersun, Love Island’s weekly round up show.

She said she felt it was the right time to finish their time on the show calling it the “perfect end to our journey”.

Though Lola was the one to suggest they volunteer, Fitzy meanwhile admitted he had “mixed emotions” about leaving and said he was “sad to leave all my new friends”.

But he said overall he was happy: “We found love and the whole point of the show is to find love, we were good to go.”

Lola also said she plans to move to Dublin with the GAA star.

Lola and Fitzy had been coupled up since the beginning with the two making things exclusive and even exchanging ‘I love yous’ within the first two weeks.

Though the pair were initially popular with fans online, public opinion had soured, particularly on Lola in recent weeks.

Her controversial story arc began after the most dramatic week of the season, Casa Amor, which sees established couples separated and six new boys and six new girls sent in to test the strength of their connections.

Though Fitzy was mostly loyal to Lola during Casa, he did participate in a raunchy challenge where points were awarded for islanders passion and commitment to various snogging dares.

The Galway man kissed and danced on two of the new girls, including Julia.

Once all the contestants were reunited in the main villa, Julia and Lola butted heads about Fitzy’s time in Casa with many fans unhappy with how Lola treated the new girls upon their arrival.

Many people online have said Lola’s anger towards Julia should have been directed at Fitzy for his Casa antics. She also tried to ban the Galway man from speaking to Julia at one point.

The feud resulted in numerous arguments between the two women with one resulting in a particularly fun moment when Julia said ‘póg mo thóin” to Lola.

Lola assumed Julia was speaking in her native Polish before Fitzy confirmed it was an Irish phrase.

Even Fitzy couldn’t help but laugh at that, and he also later conceded that he was the one who taught her the cúpla focal during his Casa Amor stint.

Fitzy was the last of the Irish hopes in the villa after Dublin influencer Charleen Murphy was dumped last week.

She originally entered the villa during Casa Amor and earned a permanent spot when 21-year-old Kavan Murphy chose to couple up with her.

Unfortunately for Charleen, Kavan rekindled things with his previous partner Jasmine Muller soon after, leaving the Irish woman single and subsequently dumped.
