Man arrested in connection with Carlow assault

The victim was assaulted at around 3am in the College Road area. His injuries are described as serious.

A MAN WAS arrested today in connection with a serious assault that took place in Carlow this morning.

Gardaí told TheJournal.ie that the man, who was in his 20s, has since been released.

A man suffered was badly injured in an assault which occurred in Carlow at 3am on College Road this morning.

The victim was 30 years of age and suffered serious head injuries in the assault. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation is currently under way into the circumstances of the assault.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses, and in particular to anybody in the vicinity of College St in and around 3am this morning, to contact them.
