Man arrested after climbing over fence at Buckingham Palace 'had been drinking'
Police said the 22-year-old did not gain access to the palace.
A MAN HAS been arrested after a security breach at Buckingham Palace, the Metropolitan Police have said.
Officers arrested a 22-year-old man from Croydon on suspicion of trespassing after he climbed over a security fence at the palace at about 4.15am today.
He was seen by officers who were monitoring CCTV and arrested within a security perimeter.
Police said the man “had been drinking”. They said he was not armed and did not gain access to the palace, adding that officers did not deploy a Taser.
The man is currently in custody at a central London police station. Police said the breach is not believed to be terrorism-related.
