Man in court over spate of armed robberies in Dublin city centre

Gardaí launched an investigation into the armed robberies at coffee shops and convenience stores over the past two months.

A 44-YEAR-OLD MAN will appear in court today charged in connection with a series of armed robberies of businesses in Dublin city in recent weeks.

Gardaí had launched a major investigation after the robberies began at coffee shops and convenience stores in the city centre over the past two months.

The 44-year-old man was arrested on Aungier Street in Dublin city centre last Friday and a gun was recovered.

The man is due to appear at the Courts of Criminal Justice this morning over the case.

A 21-year-old woman who was arrested at the same time was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
