Man dies and five people hospitalised in multi-vehicle crash on N7

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A MAN HAS died and five more people have been taken to hospital after a collision on the N7 yesterday evening.

The collision, which involved a truck and two cars, occurred around 6.40pm on the westbound N7 in the Rathcoole area of Dublin. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where the male driver of the truck was pronounced deceased.

His body was removed to a mortuary at Whitehall. A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

Five other people were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening at this time.

The road was closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward, including anyone with camera footage such as from a dash-cam.
