Man in serious condition after Westmeath crash

A man in his 20s collided with a ditch and is in a serious condition in Mullingar Hospital.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses after a man in his 20s crashed his car into a ditch.

The single vehicle traffic collision occurred in the early hours of this morning in Castlepollard County Westmeath.

The collision occurred on the R195 near Castlepollard shortly after 3 am this morning.

A man in his 20s was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a ditch.

He was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where his condition is believed to be serious.

The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Forensic collision investigators have been notified to attend the scene.
