Man killed in Meath crash

The man was the sole occupant of a car that struck a wall in Meath.

GARDAÍ IN NAVAN, Co Meath are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision that claimed the life of a man.

The crash occurred between 2.40pm and 3pm today on the R162 Navan to Kingscourt road at Kilberry, about four miles outside Navan.

The car collided with a wall and the driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was seriously injured. He was transferred to Navan Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The road is closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.

Witnesses or anyone who travelled along the road between 2.30pm and 3pm today are asked to contact Navan Garda station on 046 9036100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
