A MAN HAS been left with serious facial injuries following an assault in Cork city on Tuesday night.
Gardaí say that a 21-year-old man had to undergo surgery on serious facial injuries he sustained when he was assaulted at Green Street in Cork city on Tuesday night at some point between 11am and 12pm.
The man remains in hospital.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses who may have been in the Green Street area of Cork city between 11pm and 12 midnight and may have witnessed an altercation in the vicinity of Greenmount School.
Witnesses are urged to contact them with any information at the Anglesea Street Garda station on 021-4522000, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
