Two men charged over spate of armed robberies in Cork

TWO MEN HAVE been charged in connection with a spate of armed robberies in Cork on Tuesday.

The men are due before Cork District Court this morning.

Gardaí said that early on Tuesday morning a man entered a petrol station in the Fermoy area and threatened staff with a knife. He left the filling station with money and made his getaway in a black car.

Another incident happened in the Watergrasshill area. The man entered a shop, demanded cash with a knife and again left in a black car. A third robbery occurred at a shop in Glanmire shortly after.

Two men in their 30s and 50s were later arrested after a car matching the description was followed and intercepted.

Gardaí said nobody was physically harmed during the incidents.
