Family thanks volunteers as search for missing Michael Bugler continues
The student has not been seen in over a week.
THE OLDER SISTER of Michael Bugler has thanked all those who have spent Christmas looking for the 20-year-old missing student.
Writing on Facebook yesterday evening, Laura Bugler said:
I wish I could thank everyone individually for the turn out today. You’ve all been absolutely amazing, we’re humbled and astounded at the support.
The search for the law student resumed this morning at 10am at Oranmore garda station where large crowds gathered again.
Michael was last seen on Friday 18 December at about 1am in the Quay Street area of Galway city.
CCTV footage examined as part of the search has showed Michael passing the Claddagh church at 00.58am. It appears that he was on his way home to Fairhill Road.
His sister Laura revealed that there had been some potential sightings of Michael at the Gort na Coirbe student village on Headford Road in the centre of the city at 3am.
We have made good progress with CCTV today and there have some potential sightings at Gort na Coirbe at approximately 03.00am on Thursday night.
“If you have seen Michael at any point in the night please contact me and let me know,” she continued.
Michael is described as being 5’9″ in height, of thin build with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a blue coloured jumper and jeans.
Originally from Ennis in county Clare, he is a third year student at NUIG.
A vigil was held for him at Barefield church yesterday evening.
