Motorcylist dies in Kerry crash

The accident took place on the R551 at Ballyheigue, Co Kerry.

A MAN HAS died after his motorbike struck the footpath and a roadside pillar in Kerry yesterday evening.

The accident took place on the R551 at Ballyheigue, a coastal village approximately 18km north of Tralee.

The man, who was in his mid 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee where a post mortem will take place.

The diversions that were in place on the R551 have now been lifted.
