Arrest in connection with missing Irish woman in Wales

Police in Wales have arrested a man in connection with the disappearance of missing Irish woman Catherine Gowing, who has been missing since last Friday.

NORTH WALES POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of 38-year-old Irish woman, Catherine Gowing.

Catherine, who is described as around 5ft 10 tall and of slim build,  was last seen alive by friends in Mold, Flintshire, Wales at 8pm on Friday October 12, 2012.

As part of this investigation detectives are anxious to trace the whereabouts of a burgundy/purple coloured Renault Clio, with Irish registration plate 00 D 99970.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police told TheJournal.ie that they would be holding a press conference later in the afternoon where they would release further information.

A major incident room and a senior detective has taken charge of the investigation.

Anyone one with information, or who has seen the car,  is asked to call North Wales Police or Crimestoppers.
