French woman who was killed in Dublin last night named locally

Gardaí were called to her address at around midnight last night.

GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED a murder investigation after a woman was discovered dead in a Dublin city apartment.

The woman has been named locally as French national Anna Colomines. She worked for online transaction company Paypal as a senior team leader. It is understood she had lived in Dublin for a number of years.

Officers received a call at around 11.30pm of an incident at Dorset Square Apartments.

When they arrived they discovered a 37-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man with serious injuries.

Colomines was pronounced dead at the scene and it is understood she suffered stab wounds.

The man was taken to the Mater Hospital and his injuries are described as serious.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.

A garda spokeswoman said: “Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact Mountjoy Garda station on 01 6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.”
