Detectives granted extra time to question man in murder investigation

Laura Marshall’s body was found at an apartment in Lurgan on Sunday.

DETECTIVES IN ARMAGH have been given extra time to question a 36-year-old man as part of a murder investigation.

The body of Laura Marshall (31) was found at an apartment in the Victoria Street area of Lurgan on Sunday at around 5.30pm.

As a result of a post-mortem yesterday, police launched a murder investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Eamonn Corrigan from Serious Crime Branch said: “Police have been allowed an extra 36 hours to question the suspect.

“I am continuing appeal to anyone who may have seen or had any contact with Laura over the weekend to contact detectives at Mahon Road on 101 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“I also want to hear from anyone who saw or heard any activity at Laura’s home in Victoria Street over the weekend until Sunday evening at 5.30pm.”
