• The repression of citizens and protesters in Iran must end, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said, as hundreds of people have been killed and thousands detained in the uprising against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s rule.
• A young Brazilian woman was strangled to death by her ex boyfriend after she went to his Cork city apartment so that they could make a FaceTime call back home to see their pet dog, a murder trial has hard.
• The DAA has committed to pausing the disciplinary investigation against suspended DAA chief Kenny Jacobs until a court hearing takes place, the High Court has heard.
• A woman who fled the Russian invasion of Ukraine with her family to Ireland later stabbed her eight-year-old daughter over 70 times in an attempt to murder the girl, it was alleged at her trial today.
• Gardaí are investigating after regulars in a Dublin pub chased an apparently armed and masked man out of their bar this weekend.

#GREENLAND: Greenland’s government said it could not accept a US takeover of the Arctic island under “any circumstance”, after US President Donald Trump said that the United States would take the territory “one way or the other”.

#IRAN: Iran is currently seeing historic levels of civil unrest as anti-government protests have swept the country, but a communications blackout means Iranians outside of the Islamic Republic cannot contact their loved ones as reports of more than 500 deaths filter out. 

#THE MIDDLE EAST: The Minister for Foreign Affairs today said that there would be no reason for the Iranian regime to enforce a communications blackout in the country amidst nights of protests if it had “nothing to hide”.
