INTERNATIONAL

#MIDDLE EAST: The US and Iran have been attacking each other in the most serious clashes since their ceasefire, as
Iranian forces fired at four ships attempting to cross the Strait, and US forces struck a ground control station in the southern port area of Bandar Abbas.

#LEBANON: The Lebanese town of Tibnine, where a monument to 48 Irish soldiers killed on peacekeeping duty stands, was struck amid numerous Israeli bombing raids across the south of the country overnight and this morning.

#BP CHAIRMAN: The ousted chairman of oil giant BP hit out over what he described as a “false narrative” surrounding his departure from the company over claims about his behaviour.

PARTING SHOT

Twelve museums and galleries opening their doors to visitors until late, as part of plans to transform the capital into a more vibrant cultural capital.

The extended opening hours are part of Dublin by Dusk, a new night-time economy drive aimed at bringing a co-ordinated programme to Dublin City centre on the last Thursday of each month.

It includes the National Museum of Ireland, the National Library, Dublin Bay Cruises and Royal Hospital, Kilmainham.
