As part of your face-to-face consultation with your chosen laya healthcare Healthcoach, you’ll take a VO2 max test.
Why do I need it?
Fitness tests like the VO2 max test are used to measure your aerobic capacity, or the maximum amount of oxygen you can use during intense exercise. The object of this test isn’t to push you to your limits, but instead to find out your body’s stress points, as well as areas where you perform strongly.
What can I expect?
Your heart rate and endurance will be monitored on a treadmill. Generally speaking, the lower your heart rate, the better your fitness level. Using heart rate measurements during this test gives a solid starting point for your Healthcoach to work from when devising your exercise programme.
