POLITICIANS APPEARING ON podcasts may be becoming a feature of modern elections, particularly after last year’s US presidential contest.
Trump appeared on 14 major podcasts or streams during the campaign, largely targeting men, while Kamala Harris also tapped into the power of podcasts in a bid to reach her target demographics.
It might come as no surprise then that podcasts have also played an important role in this year’s Irish presidential election – for one candidate at least.
Independent Catherine Connolly has appeared on at least seven podcasts since July. Heather Humphreys, by comparison, has so far only done two long-form podcast interviews and appeared for approximately 2 minutes on The Tumbling Paddies podcast.
So today, we’re asking you: Do you think politicians should go on podcasts?
