The report in Portlaoise has posed some important questions.

A REPORT INTO safety and standards at the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise has made for difficult reading.

It painted a picture of woefully substandard care with the report also pointing out that safe surgery could not be ensured.

Some parents of children who died at the hospital have also spoken about feeling “intimidated”.
