Poll: Would you support the setting-up of injecting centres for drug addicts?

A report published today has said these centres can address the dangers related to on-street injection but do you support his idea?

TWO DRUG TREATMENT groups have called for the government to consider the concept of supervised injecting centres for drug addicts, in a report on drug use published today.

The report says these centres are in use in other cities like Madrid and Sydney with data showing that they can provide early intervention and address the dangers related to on-street injecting.

Legislation would have to be changed to allow centres like this to be set up and other issues like objections from locals living beside a centre and implications that it would actually encourage drug use are likely to arise. However the groups have said that the centres can be a gateway to treatment and recovery for users.

We want to know what you have to say: Would you support the setting-up of injecting centres for drug addicts?
