LAST UPDATE | 10 Dec 2025
AROUND 2,500 HOMES, farms and businesses are still without power this evening in the aftermath of yesterday’s Storm Bram.
The outages were spread across the country but are more prevalent in coastal areas, where there was flooding throughout the day.
Storm Bram arrived yesterday morning and continued into the late evening. At the peak of the power outages suffered by customers yesterday, some 54,000 were without power.
A spokesperson for the ESB confirmed at 8pm yesterday that 25,000 were without power.
This evening, the figure stands at 2,500 and those affected are primarily in the south-east.
The ESB said it would restart works to restore power to those affected “at first light” this morning and apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
“We acknowledge the disruption to family and commercial life this causes and thank impacted customers for their patience as our crews work to safely restore power,” the spokesperson said.
Estimated restoration times can be found on PowerCheck.
Storm Bram caused widespread disruption throughout the day as numerous events were called off, with the Department of Education confirming approximately 70 primary schools had not opened or closed early as a result.
Over 70 flights from Dublin Airport, mainly destined for the UK, were called off.
