A PREGNANT MOTHER was threatened by an armed gang who broke into her home last Friday, gardaí confirmed to TheJournal.ie today.

The woman’s son was in the property at the time of the aggravated burglary.

The gang of three men wore balaclavas and were armed with a gun, a knife and a hammer. They broke into the house in the Applewood area Swords at around 7 pm on the evening of 17 January.

They ransacked the house looking for cash but gardaí said that, in the end, they took off with jewellery, two mobile phones, a camera and some cash.

The incident lasted about fifteen minutes in total.

According to a report in The Herald today, the mother was told they would “kick the baby out” of her. It also reported that the men threatened to shoot her two-year-old son who was with her in the house at the time.
