Do you have a reusable coffee cup?

You might even call it a keep cup.

IN A RECENT interview with The Journal, Minister of State Alan Dillon shared plans to encourage more people to use reusable coffee cups.

Dillon, who is minister with responsibility for the circular economy, said he is working to roll out a scheme that would include cup ‘washing stations’ in garages and larger coffee chains.

The move would be introduced alongside other measures, including the proposed latte-levy – which is intended to discourage the use of disposable coffee cups.

Roughly 22,000 disposable takeaway cups are discarded every hour in Ireland, according to the government’s circular economy strategy.

Dillon said people need to be encouraged to use their own reusable cups, with “widespread infrastructure available” to make cleaning them easier.

With that in mind, today we’re asking: Do you have a reusable coffee cup?
