LAST UPDATE | 20 Oct
REVOLUT SERVICES ARE back for Irish users after multiple services were down since this morning.
A Revolut spokesperson told The Journal that the disruptions were due to an outage at Google Cloud.
Apologising for any inconvenience, the spokesperson said “our customers’ money and data are safe and remained safe throughout” the disruption.
A power outage at a Google Cloud data centre near London caused serious failures to services on Tuesday, leading to widespread disruptions for several UK banks.
Google said in a service health update that most services had returned to normal just after midday, six hours after the incident began.
“We are seeing the recovery of services for most workloads in europe-west2,” the US tech giant said, referring to its London data centre.
Google said its cloud services suffered an outage “due to a power event”, in an incident that began just after 6am.
We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services. We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe. We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.

Despite the Google Cloud outage being resolved, Revolut’s online system status still listed 31 services as partially unavailable on Tuesday afternoon, including card payments, transfers, ATM withdrawals, premium services and signing in to accounts.
In a statement this morning, Revolut said they had been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologised to anyone affected.
