Samsung and Daft.ie launch Smart TV property app

Samsung continues to grow its Smart TV offering with new partnership.

THE LATEST ADDITION to the Samsung Smart Hub is a new property search app powered by Daft.ie.

Users already enjoy YouTube, the RTE Player, Netflix, Muzu.tv, Facebook and Twitter through their television screens and now they will also be able to search for a new home or showcase their rental accommodation though their sets as well.

Samsung announced the partnership with Ireland’s largest property website earlier today. It said the app will allow users search for their next home on a bigger screen and from the comfort of the couch.

Marketing manager at Samsung Ireland Brendan Carr said the move was part of the company’s commitment to providing viewers with a wide range of content and services “beyond video-on-demand and film services”.

“Our partnership with Daft.ie provides a new way to look at property searching. By viewing images on the television, house hunters will be able to get a better insight into the property, but they can also access shortlists they may have made on their mobile phone while out and about viewing potential homes.”
Daft.ie’s marketing director Kieran Harte added, “It’s the next evolution from our success in the smartphone and tablet environments.”
Daft.ie is part of the Distilled Media group. Nine out of every 10 properties for sale in Ireland are advertised on the site which as 1.9 million monthly unique browsers.

Journal Media Ltd has shareholders – Brian and Eamonn Fallon – in common with Distilled Media Group.
