Second man released in Sandra Collins inquiry

Gardaí have made three arrests this week in their investigation into the 2000 disappearance of the Mayo woman.

A SECOND MAN ARRESTED in the investigation into the disappearance of a Mayo woman over ten years ago has been released without charge.

The 58-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of withholding information.

Born in 1971, Sandra Collins was last seen at a takeaway in Killala, Co Mayo, on the night of 4 December 2000.

Gardaí issued fresh appeals for information regarding Collins recently and earlier this week arrested a 21-year-old woman. She was subsequently released without charge and a man, 46, was arrested on Thursday.

He has since been released without charge and gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP.
