Second pedestrian killed in Kildare in under 12 hours

Gardaí appealing for witnesses to separate road accidents which have killed two men in Kildare.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING TO THE public for witnesses to two separate road accidents in Co Kildare which have killed two male pedestrians.

Last night, a 33-year-old man died after behind struck by a vehicle on the N9 outside Castledermot at around 10.20pm last night.

This morning, a second man was killed in a road crash at Silliot Hill, Kildare.

The man, 59, was struck by a car and fatally injured at around 7.30am this morning.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen the incidents or who may have any information regarding the crashes to contact them at Castledermot or Kildare. The Garda Confidential Line is 1800 666 111.

AA Roadwatch says that the roads have reopened and diversions lifted following technical examinations of the scenes.
