Severe water disruption in Cork

A break in the water main affects several towns across Cork County.

A BREAK in the Inniscarra water main has severely disrupted the water supply to Cork.

The areas affected by the break include Ballincollig, Carrigrohane, Ballinora, Waterfall, Curraheen, Bandon road and Bishopstown, RTÉ reports.

Cork County Council has described the damage caused  by the break as “major” and said that it would take a least 24 hours to repair.

Plans to reroute the water supply are under way, but may cause a drop in pressure and discolouration.
