Smoke seen over Dublin 8 last night came from grass fire near Memorial Gardens
The smoke was visible across a wide area, including from Inchicore and Ballyfermot and the Phoenix Park itself.
A FIRE SENT smoke over Dublin 8 on Tuesday evening.
Dublin Fire Brigade said it received multiple calls about the highly-visible smoke, the first one being at 9.40pm.
The smoke was seen close to Memorial Gardens, off the Con Colbert Road/Chapelizod bypass.
“Firefighter/Paramedics were dispatched from Dolphins Barn station and an area of grass was found to be on fire,” a spokesperson said.
The gardens border the Liffey across from the Phoenix Park, to the west of Heuston Station.
The smoke was visible across a wide area, including from Inchicore and Ballyfermot and the Phoenix Park itself.
The blaze was extinguished by 10.15pm and further spread was prevented, Dublin Fire Brigade said.
