Appeal for witnesses to stabbing in Dublin's inner city

The incident happened last Thursday evening at about 11.30pm in the Smithfield area.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a stabbing in Dublin city.

The assault occurred on 27 October at 11.30pm in the Smithfield area. A 30-year-old man was attacked by a group of youths.

Gardaí say the man was chased from Smithfield onto Queen Street and up to Arran Quay before arriving at Church Street where he managed to get assistance.

He later presented himself at the Mater Hospital where he was treated for stab wounds. His injuries are non-life threatening.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the vicinity of Smithfield, Queen Street, Arran Quay or Church Street between 11.15am and 11.45pm on 27 October.
