Status Yellow wind warning issued for seven counties, with wet day ahead for most

Wet weather will continue in Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, where a Status Yellow rain warning is in place.

LAST UPDATE | 23 Nov 2025

A STATUS YELLOW wind warning has been issued for five counties in the west.

Met Éireann has warned of fallen branches and loose debris impacting travel conditions in counties affected.

In Clare, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, the warning came into effect at 1pm and will expire at 10pm.

A separate Status Yellow wind warning is in place in Wicklow from 10am this morning until 5pm this evening.

Co Clare will also be subject to a wind warning, which is to come into effect at 7pm and expire at 10pm tonight.

A wind warning in Donegal is in place from midday until 4pm today.

Meanwhile, the wet weather will continue in Donegal, as well as in Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, where a Status Yellow rain warning is in place.

Spot flooding could lead to difficult travelling conditions.

The warning expires at 9pm tonight.

There’ll be longer spells of rain in Ulster later this morning, turning heavy at times, with the chance of hail or thunder. The rain will slowly spread southwards over Connacht and north Leinster through the afternoon and evening.

The best of the sunshine will be towards the southeast today. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds will develop.

Highest temperatures will be between 6 and 10 degrees.

Things will improve for the beginning of next week, as most places will be dry and bright tomorrow with good spells of sunshine.

Any lingering rain over the southwest will quickly clear through the morning with just a few isolated showers possible elsewhere.

Highest temperatures expected to be from 7 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh north to northwest winds.
