Tory election victor tears into political rivals and causes a near riot

“Intellectually barren, corrupt, backward-looking losers.”

Breaking News / YouTube

IS THIS THE most arrogant victory speech of all time?

Conservative MP Stewart Jackson was elected to the House of Commons for the third time on Thursday night, telling the assembled crowd that rumours of his political death had been “greatly exaggerated”.

Jackson defeated Labour’s Lisa Forbes by 1,925 votes despite seeing his vote share decline and his rival increasing her party’s.

The representative, known for his fiery demeanour, then launched into a tirade against the Labour party labelling them “arrogant three-time losers”.

It provoked a raucous reaction and Jackson was booed and heckled throughout the rest of his speech in which he accused Labour of trying to “buy this seat with union money”.

Building up to a big finish and cheered on by some supporters, Stewart then accused Labour of being “intellectually barren, corrupt, backward-looking losers”.

He finished with another message to Labour:

Learn some humility, you’ve had a kicking tonight, there’s plenty more to come.
