SUPERVALU HAS STRUCK a deal worth €160,000 with an Irish cheese-maker.
The independent supermarket has announced that it has signed the deal with Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers to stock its Cashel Blue Cream Cheese.
The deal will mean that Tipperary-made Cashel Blue Cream Cheese, which is 100 per cent Irish, exclusively available in SuperValu stores.
The newly launched product is a mix of Cashel Blue, cream cheese and fresh cream.

Sarah Furno, managing director, Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers, said they have been making cheese on their farm for over 30 years and are delighted to offer the cream chesse exclusively to SuperValu customers.
Three quarters of everything on SuperValu’s shelves is sourced or produced in Ireland, contributing over €1.6 billion to the Irish economy and helping to sustain almost 30,000 Irish jobs in the farm, food and retail sector, the company said.
